Born September 7, 1982, Hinouchi Emi is a Japanese singer and songwriter signed under Tachytelic Records. Although she is a native born of Osaka, Japan, she moved to Taiwan when she was only four years old and knows a bit of Mandarin as a result (as displayed on her album); Emi moved back to Japan when she was 14.

Her credited career began as a songwriter and background singer for the Japanese rap / "hip-pop" group Heartsdales. Then, in 2002, she signed with Tachytelic Records, owned by m-flo DJ Taku Takahashi, and released her first single, Magic / World.

Emi released two more singles, followed by a 2003 debut album entitled Dramatiques. She was featured in a few collaborations with m-flo, MIC BANDITZ, and SOURCE, adding to her success. In 2006, Emi came back with a new collaboration with m-flo and Ryohei, "Summer Time Love."

In 2007, Emi changed record labels to KING RECORDS and has so far released two singles: O'kay, GOODIE MEMORIES, and 愛だけが (Ai dake ga [Only love]). She has also written her name slightly different, using katakana for her given name (日之内エミ).

In 2009, Emi was dropped from her label (presumably due to poor album sales). She posted an "apology" to her fans and production team on her blog.
