At one time voted Sailormoon's most popular character, Ami has been featured in a good amount of episodes and important manga acts. Her episodes tend to focus on character development and showing her kind and determined sides. I have written mini-summaries of these episodes/acts for your viewing pleasure. F[>]irst_time // Ep.8 + Act2~sailormercury appears!
Could this new genius girl be an enemy? Perhaps Ami's most recognizabe episode is her unveiling in Anime episode 8 (episode 5 in North America) and manga Volume 1, Act II. I liked the way she was introduced because it added a very mysterious quality to her character. The distance and coldness she experienced are all reasons why her life has been so lonely and I believe Takeuchi explains this nicely.

I[>]nspector_mercury // Ep. 9~mercurygadgetsunveiled
Next in line - in the anime atleast - is Ami's first use of her miniature super computer and VR Visor. She uses them to analyze and detect the presence of a youma. However, this episode also reveals how weak and vulnerable Sailormercury is when attacked during her calculations and computations. We also get a glimpse of the growing relationship between Luna and Ami and how much trust they share with one another.
Episode 9 Summary
S[>]easide_adventure // Ep. 20~reconnect
Ep. 20 is one of character-defining episodes where Ami displays her compassion and concern for the lonely. Unfortunately, though, this episode was never released in the dubbed version (most likely because it steered away from the 'Dark Kingdom' plotline). I like episode because it features Ami confronting her own childhood problems and helping a girl who seemed just like her.

U[>]rawa_ryo // Ep. 27~ the broken heart of a first love
This is a great anime-centered episode! Ami's sort of given a "secret lover" that does his best to get her attention. I really like how this episode turned out (even the NA dub was good!); it really shows a protective and stronger Ami more than ever. I'm sad that Ryo never came back in the later seasons, but it's a cute side-step from the general plot of the story. I plan on exploring this 'forgotten' relationship sometime in the future.
Episode 27 Summary
S[>]aving_grace // Ep. 41~ the return of urawa ryo
The second appearance of Ryo is another surprise, but an important one, in Ami's life. She must put herself, her love, and everything she believes in on the line. In an uninhibited battle against the Evil Prince Endymion, Ami displays her advantages as a tactician and strategic artist. It's sad because this is the last true episode with our boy Ryo; and it ends on such a happy note *sigh*. Still, it is one of the most important and defining episodes in her career because it's not about gaining new powers but recognizing her inner powers.(*tear*)
